While vinyl siding is a good, cheap, and durable product to wrap your house in, over the years you may need to replace a few planks.  Maybe you've gotten a bit to close with a string trimmer (weed whacker as some like to call them) and punctured a hole into it, or the previous homeowner decided to put holes everywhere to run a coaxial cable throughout the house, or you got a little too close with the BBQ and melted the siding.  Either way, replacing a panel of vinyl siding is actually really easy if you get the right tool.  I thought I could do it without buying a tool, but after spending way to much time trying to fiddle everything back together and nearly wrecking a new panel of vinyl siding, I caved and purchased the Malco SRT2 Side Swiper II Tool from Amazon.  What a difference the right tool makes, the next time I went to replace 4 panels in the time it took my to struggle to replace one before.

With your tool in hand (or on order), take a look at the video below from Shannon from House-Improvements for a clear and straight-forward instructions on replacing a panel of vinyl siding.  It's the best video I could find on YouTube that shows the whole process start to finish.
